Margherita Saccá Counsellor
Welcome, I’m Margherita Sacca, a counsellor supporting individuals, couples, and families.
I offer a safe and compassionate space to explore challenges such as anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, or life transitions. My approach is relational and flexible, tailored to your unique needs, helping you find clarity, resilience, and new ways forward.
My Approach
I work from a relational–systemic and integrated perspective, informed by psychodynamic thinking. In our first couple of sessions, we’ll take time to build understanding and trust, exploring what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve.
After that, the duration and frequency of sessions will depend on individual cases and circumstances. Counselling is a gradual process that starts with building connection and unfolds through regular, committed work together, it benefits from time, regularity, and commitment.
This approach views people in the context of their relationships — past and present — and the systems they are part of, such as family, friendships, work, and culture. It recognises that our wellbeing is shaped by these connections and focuses on understanding patterns of relating and communication. An integrated approach draws on techniques and ideas from different counselling models, allowing flexibility to adapt to each person’s needs. It means that the therapeutic work is tailored rather than following a single method, combining insights and tools that best fit the individual situation. Being informed by psychodynamic thinking means exploring how past experiences and unconscious patterns may influence present feelings, relationships, and behaviours. It involves developing self-awareness and understanding how early experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others today. Most frequent questions and answers
An initial assessment phase of one to two sessions allows for a shared understanding of your needs and goals. Following this, counselling is generally open-ended, with duration and frequency agreed collaboratively and reviewed as the work progresses. Clients are encouraged to plan for a minimum of six to ten sessions to begin with.
Sessions are typically held weekly to support continuity, though fortnightly appointments may be arranged in certain circumstances. Planned breaks and subsequent follow-up sessions can be incorporated as needed to suit individual progress and availability.
Each session lasts around 50 minutes. The final 5–10 minutes are usually spent wrapping up, reflecting on what has been explored, and setting the tone for the next meeting. I encourage you to take a few minutes after your session for self-care or brief note-taking — a gentle way to process and integrate what emerged during the conversation.
I work one-to-one and never record sessions. I keep brief notes for my own use to support the therapeutic process, and these are destroyed once our work together comes to a natural close or a long break. Notes are not shared with anyone. If you wish for me to share information about our work (for example, with a GP or another professional), I can do this while you are still engaged in counselling, we would discuss this together and have a conversation on what will be shared.

Counselling can be helpful if you’re looking for a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, or relationships in a confidential and supportive setting. It may be right for you if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or curious about understanding yourself more deeply. The first sessions are an opportunity to experience how we work together and decide if this feels like the right fit for you.
Both online and in-person counselling are effective, and I am fully trained and experienced in both formats. Online sessions can be just as meaningful and productive as in-person work, and there are simple ways to make them feel grounded and connected. It is important that they are conducted in a private, uninterrupted setting. While some exercises and ways of working may differ slightly, the depth of therapeutic work — and your engagement between sessions — remain very similar.
I work independently in one-to-one sessions. Only for group workshops or support groups, depending on the focus and nature of the intervention, I may collaborate with a trusted colleague. They too would hold the same confidentiality criteria I hold.
I currently offer online sessions on Mondays and in-person sessions on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. If these times don’t work for you, I’m happy to discuss alternative arrangements, depending on availability. Each session costs £75 and is payable in advance when booking, following the instructions in the Terms and Conditions of the Counselling Agreement. The fee is the same for individual, couple, or family counselling sessions. Support group and group workshops sessions might instead differ in price, depending on the nature of the group work.
